Rainy Saturday

Rob was up and out the door early Saturday morning.  He was scheduled to work from 9am until 7:45 pm.  He departed at 0600 to allow plenty of time to make all the transitions.

I got a text from him a bit later and he had attached a couple of photos.  The pics were labeled "Special" and "Real Special."
REAL SPECIAL

SPECIAL

His Shotlink duties had garnered great access and he was excited.  He was on hole 14 fairway and had a good working partner.

I had been watching the weather and warned him to expect a weather delay.  I even mentioned a full blown suspension of play later in the day.

It started raining around noon and it did not stop.  The rain was not a big issue but the thunder and accompanying lightening were.  The horn sounded and the waiting began.

They waited
and waited
and waited.
VICTIMS OF BOREDOM OR ALCOHOL?

After a four hour suspension, play was suspended for the day.  The thunder and lightening had abated but the rain had not.  The course was deemed unplayable.

A stop in play before all players finish a round is a tournament planner's nightmare. Since some of the golfers did not even get to tee off on Saturday, Sunday would be long.  Some players would be playing 36 holes on the final day.  36 holes of golf is mentally and physically taxing.

Rob returned to Lewis and he looked like he had been wading.  He was soaked but happy with his day.

We took the girls for a short walk and got Lewis ready for Sunday.

Sunday is moving day!

Another great day in this thing we call life.
