Moving day, Presque Isle State Park and dinner with Robyn

Sunday was moving day!  We knew that we needed to be in Carlisle, PA by the 11th and we could either stay in Ohio one more night or swing by Erie, PA on our way.

We decided on Erie, PA.

Erie has this little spit of land that extends well into the lake.  It is called Presque Isle.  Rob said he had looked at it on the map many times and wanted to check it out.

We drove Lewis to a KOA just outside town and got him set.  We made sure the girls were comfortable and then we headed to Presque Isle for an afternoon run.  The road in and out of the area was hopping.  I had read a bit about the region and this spit of land gets about 4 million visitors a year.  It has one main road that is 13 miles long.  That's a lot of humanity going up and down one 13 mile road.

There is a very nice path that runs along the water.  We parked at the first available spot and decided to run from there.  The path was busy but not so much that running was difficult.  Rob and I set our goal at 50 minutes and off we went.  Running along the water is nice.  It is a good eye candy type of distraction and a breeze can often be had.

We had a great out and back with a negative split.

When we finished our run, we hustled back to Lewis.  We needed to get cleaned up and head into Erie to meet Robyn.

Robyn aka Rob/Robbie is Megan's good friend from Big Spring School and the daughter of my friend Laurrie Hoover.   She is working an Internship in Erie over the summer and we just wanted to stop and say hi.
HI

We went to a local restaurant called Erie Tap House.  We all enjoyed some good food and caught up on how Robbie's summer had been going.  We also took a short driving tour of her college campus.  She attends Mercyhurst College.  She is one great young lady and we love her and her family.

After dinner, we took Robbie home and went back to the RV to get the girls.  We wanted to catch the sunset over Lake Erie and Penny Lane needed a swim.

SHE GOES JUST A BIT CRAZY WHEN SHE GETS NEAR THE WATER

The sunset was gorgeous.

Sunday was good.  We had safe travels and we got to see Robbie.  Penny got to swim and Annie got to sit in the sand and watch.  Rob and I had an excellent run and our day came to a close with this beautiful sunset.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
