4th of July and moving day

Rob and I had gone back on forth on what to do for the 4th of July.  We were supposed to leave our site in Michigan on the 5th.
The more we thought about it, the more we liked the idea of hitting the road on Independence Day.  We figured traffic would be lighter since most campers were celebrating and waiting for fireworks.

We took our time getting ready to go.  I took Penny Lane for a run and Rob also got his exercise.  We all ride better if we get a run or hike before we get going.  We packed, checked and double checked and we bid farewell to our wonderful site at Indigo Bluffs.  The RV resort is lovely and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore is spectacular.  We visited several villages and towns and met some really nice people.  If anyone ever comes to the Traverse City area, check out the park and the surrounding villages.  Try to visit Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, Empire, The Platte River, Traverse City and Suttons Bay.  It is a wonderful place for the outdoor enthusiast.

As we made our way, we realized that we had made a good decision to leave on the 4th.  Traffic was light and it was a bit overcast which makes for a nice drive.  We took back roads and drove along several of the area's many lakes.

We were heading to Ohio so we needed to get on the Interstate and make our way east.  We were  not planning to reach our destination in one day and our plan was to stop outside Toledo.
PENNY WANTED A BETTER LOOK
GETTING A BIT OF PRACTICE.  I GOT LOTS AND LOTS OF INSTRUCTION
I LOVE THIS SIGN.

GOING OVER THE BRIDGE IN TOLEDO.  THE RIVER BELOW WAS FULL OF BOATLOADS OF SPECTATORS WAITING FOR FIREWORKS

Our travel day was fairly uneventful and as it got closer to dark, we pulled into a Flying J truck stop.  Flying J's will let RVers park overnight for free.  They also have RV fuel points so there is enough room.  No glamour but very economical.  We spent the bit of evening we had left watching The Tour.

Another great day in this thing we call life
