Sunday runday funday

Rob and I got up Sunday and headed for the AT.  We picked a different section to run.  I love the Boiling Springs trail head but access requires an uphill run.  Rob does not like hills.  We headed to a flat start trail head.  It is still a great run.  To hot for Penny Lane but OK for us.

We finished our run and went back to the RV to watch the last of the British Open.  We really wanted Phil to win but it was not in the cards.  He is a great ambassador for the golf world.

We needed to run a few errands and as we were driving around, we saw Appalachian Brewing Company in Mechanicsburg.  We made an extremely spontaneous decision to stop and try a new brew.  The place is pretty cool and the beer was good.   We love trying new places.

We got back to camp and cranked up the grill.  I had been marinating a London Broil all day.  Rob worked the grill.  He was assisted by Penny Lane and Annie Belle.  They are so helpful when it comes to grilling.

We had our dinner and decided to take the girls for a swim/walk.  We headed to Boiling Springs so that Penny could get in the creek and then we could walk around the lake.
ON THE READY

BOILING SPRINGS MEDAL OF HONOR CLOCK TOWER

The above clock tower honors a local Medal Of Honor recipient.
Randall David "Randy" Shughart (August 13, 1958 – October 3, 1993) was a United States Army soldier of the special operations unit, 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1SFOD-D), also known as "Delta Force". Shughart was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993.

Penny Lane had a great swim and we all had a nice walk around the lake.   We got our first look at folks playing Pokemon Go.  We witnessed about 15 people in hot pursuit of whatever this game sends them looking for.  It was both fascinating and creepy.  The age range was 10-50 years old and no one seemed to notice anything about the beauty of the day.  They were almost robotic and their faces were stuck to their phones.  It was just odd.

We returned to Lewis and spent the rest of the evening chilling.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
