Stocking up and Mini Med School

We are getting really close to hitting the road.  Rob will soon leave his job and we will start traveling.  We will stay mostly east of the Mississippi for now but there is so much to do and see.

I went to the commissary today and stocked up on non perishables.  Every little bit counts and the commissary just saves money.  I am looking forward to the growing season and being able to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from roadside stands but the commissary is great for staples.

Mini Med School was awesome tonight!  The topic was cardiology and I discovered that I did not know Jack about cardiology.  The speaker was a 40+ year practicing cardiologist but he was fully tuned in to the most modern techniques.  His talked about hypertension and the constant battle to get a handle on it.  One person asked "why is exercise so beneficial to a healthy heart?"  He honestly responded that there was no one answer for that but that it was absolutely true that exercise was good for heart health.  He discussed the obesity epidemic and how it was cutting into all the progress that had been made in the battle against heart disease.  He had awesome slides of all kinds of heart conditions.  It was just a very cool class.  It was very complex but still really good.

THE AZALEAS ON THE GEORGETOWN CAMPUS WERE BEAUTIFUL

We finished our day with a vehicle search when we got to the gate at Fort Belvoir.  So annoying.  We had our ID cards and were just trying to get to the RV but.... random, schmandom.

Another good day in this thing we call life.
