Traverse City and neat stuff from Beijing

Rob and I decided to head into Traverse City for a walk along the water.  Penny Lane is always happy to take these kinds of walks because she knows it could lead to an opportunity to swim.


Traverse Bay is large and the water is blue and clear.  The wind was up a bit so it was a choppy but still beautiful.

We walked for a bit and passed a really nice marina.  The season here has to be short but the boaters love the lakes.

After we passed the marina, we came to a splash zone for kids.  Splash zones are full of all different sorts of water things for the kids to get wet but not submerge themselves in water.  The kids around here are a hearty lot.  It was not that warm but they did not care one bit.  They were having a blast.  A group of three noticed Penny Lane and Annie Belle and had to come over for pets.  They were good to ask first and then they just could not get enough.  I chatted with them for a bit and then we needed to get on our way.  The girls and I got multiple hugs and kisses from these kids.  Sweet beyond description.  My guess is that they do not have a dog but love dogs.  

We drove back from Traverse City and spent the rest of the day at camp.  Rob is still healing so we are keeping the walks and hikes short.

Megan and I messaged a bit and she is doing so well.  She went to a place that is a replica of the set from the Sitcom Friends.

MEGAN IN JOEY AND CHANDLER'S APARTMENT.  "HOW YOU DOIN?"

 She and two of her friends waited around until the could sit on THE COUCH at Central Perk.  The ordered a coffee and watched three episodes of Friends.  Imagine that!  She has done tons of things Chinese but truly enjoyed this unusual and unexpected activity.

The evening came and brought cool, clean breezes.  It is still light past 10pm.  We still have a week left in our Michigan trip but we both agree that we will be back.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
