Checking out Pittsburgh

Wednesday was a non golf day for us.  We had tickets for Tuesday and Thursday and Rob had mentioned going for a walkabout in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

We lived in Carlisle, PA for seven years and never went to Pittsburgh.  Rob mentioned it several times but it just did not fit into our schedules.

So....we got up, had coffee and a run and spent a little time with the girls.  Our initial plan was to go into the city, rent kayaks and get a good look at things from the river.  Before we left, we heard that the parade for the Stanley Cup winning Pittsburgh Penguins was scheduled to run through the city.  We also heard that the crowd numbers would be high.   We decided that we would wait until the parade was over and the crowds had dispersed a bit.

Pittsburgh is interesting.  We did not spend much time there but we did walk along the river, around Pirate's stadium and Heinz stadium.  It was quieter than we expected but that was not a bad thing.
I SAW THIS AND JUST HAD TO HAVE A PICTURE.

Our visit was fairly low key but we can now say we have looked around Pittsburgh.  I am sure we did not even scratch the surface of what to do but it was nice.
We headed back to the RV and I could not help but notice the skies.
DEFINITELY A SIGN OF WHAT WAS TO COME.  WE HAD AN AMAZING LIGHTENING STORM WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

Our Wednesday was slow but we enjoy our slow days.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
