Rob and have been married nearly 27 years. We both love to travel. We love sports, exercise and being outside. We also love dogs.
Many years ago, we started talking about getting a RV and becoming full time RVers. We knew it could not happen any time soon but we kept it on the back burner and it was always simmering. We had the Army, kids, bills and all the things that come with being a family.
Rob and I went to dozens and dozens of RV shows over the next ten years. We dragged our kids through so many types of RVs. We looked and looked and looked but did not buy. We knew we were not in the position to purchase but we had a blast looking.
Finally, in 2010, we bought a Class C RV. We named him Milton.
Milton was awesome and a great start to our RV dream. We took an amazing long trip in the summer of 2011 and we were hooked. We were certain that some day we wanted to go RVing full time.
Fast forward a few years and we recognized that our dream could possibly become a reality. In November of 2015, we were looking at renewing a lease on a great apartment but we chose instead to trade Milton for a Class A RV. We named him Lewis and he became our home.
We have spent the last six months acclimating to our new lifestyle. We have not covered many miles but we have learned many lessons and we loved it. All we needed was a stop work date for Rob.
Today was that day.
Today was Rob's last day at work. After 31 years of proud service with the US Army and four years with Northrop Grumman, he is taking a break. It may be a forever break or it may not but it is definitely a well earned break. We have chosen to walk away from the money and do this while we can. We are both healthy and active and know that nothing on this earth is promised. We are beyond excited and so is Penny Lane.
DAD COMES HOME FROM HIS LAST DAY OF WORK!
We have plans ahead of us and we have periods with no plan. We think this will be an amazing adventure.
So, Rob Carr, this blog is for you!!!
Another great day in this thing we call life
