We both love sports. We think pro athletes are overpaid but it is what it is. We are not really Cowboys fans but we are also not haters.
The Cowboys organization offers VIP or self guided stadium tours. We thought getting an up close look at a pro facility might be interesting.
We bought out tickets online and we chose the self guided tour. We rarely prefer to be led around.
PSA: If you are in Dallas and want to take this tour, check to see if the field is available. AT&T stadium is used for a plethora of activities and access to the field is not a given. We knew we wanted to be able to get on the field to "play" so Rob chose the 15th as our day to visit.
This was definitely a no dogs activity so we left two very forlorn pups sitting at the window. I am sure they were asleep within five minutes of our departure but the do not take being left lying down.
The stadium is amazing. It is huge and well kept.
The self guided tour allowed us to pretty much do what we wanted when we wanted to do it. There are parameters but they are reasonable. We went through the player and cheerleader locker rooms and then made our way onto the field.

When you get down on the field and allow yourself to absorb the enormity of it all, it is a little easier to see why some players get a bit full of themselves. I cannot imagine how it must feel to play a game with so many fans watching.
For me, one of the coolest things about the visit is that we were allowed to play on the field. Rob bought me a football and we played catch. If you know me very well, you know that I'd much rather run, throw, hit, catch or kick something than do a lot of other things. So, we proceeded to play for over an hour. I had so much fun. It may sound strange but it really was fun. The field was a bit crowded but not so much that we could not enjoy ourselves. There were quite a few little kids running around scoring winning touchdowns.
After playtime, we went to the in-house restaurant and had an appetizer and shared a beer. With the visit over and it having exceeded our expectations, we headed back to Lewis and the girls.
As usual, they greeted us as though we had been gone for days but we just soak up the love and enjoy their salutations.
The day had grown sunny and warmer so we went outside to soak up a bit of Vitamin D and sip a glass of wine.

We stayed out until the sun went behind the trees and it started to cool off. I made yummy BLTs for dinner and we finished our evening with a bit of TV.
