Since we had skied Sunday and Monday, we decided that Tuesday was a good day to rest. We spent most of the day at the house reading and relaxing. I am sure the pups were happy to have us around.
After a good day's rest, we got up Wednesday and got ready to hit the slopes. The weather promised to be much better and we decided to return to Snowbasin. The temps were warmer and the winds had finally calmed.
We arrived at Snowbasin and made our way to a lift called John Paul. We could choose between a Gondola and a chair and decided on the chair. It was still a bit cloudy but visibility was so good. We could actually see where our lift was taking us.

WE COULD EVEN RIDE WITHOUT GOGGLES
OUR VIEW FROM NEAR THE TOP
When we got to the top, we quickly surmised that we should move down and over to the other side of the ski area. The peak we were on was cloudy but the peaks to the east of us were sunny. Sun is good, sun is warm.
We skied back to the base and chose the Gondola for our second ride. When we got to the top, we made our way to the sunshine. Skiing with sun is just lovely.

THE VIEW GOES ON AND ON AND ON
We spent the next couple of hours exploring the mountain. We made our way to the out of bounds ropes and we were sure to stay on the correct side. Avalanche control was in action and the booms reminded everyone know that staying in bounds was important. We actually heard a charge explode and looked up to see the small avalanche that had been created. It was at a safe distance but...
We headed to the base when we were ready for lunch. It was sunny and it was warm enough to sit outside. We took a nice relaxing break and enjoyed some good food and music.
Our afternoon included skiing an area on the upper and outer limits of Snowbasin. Strawberry Fields Gondola takes skiers to an area that often has very limited upper visibility. We had gone to this peak on Monday and we could not see much at all.
On Wednesday, the view was spectacular. We were able to unload, make our way to the ridge line, and gawk for a few minutes before skiing down.
PART OF THE GREAT SALT LAKE
There was still a bit of wind but it was entirely manageable. We got a good look and headed down.
We were having a wonderful day of skiing.
I don't know about everyone else but my legs were getting tired. The slight crouch needed for the turns on the steeps was getting harder to maintain. Loss of technique means crashing. I do not like to crash. I mentioned one more run and we agreed that it was time to finish our day.
We went from top to bottom, shed our gear and loaded the car.
Back at the house, we had some quiet time. I had already suggested staying in for dinner so we all got in "in for the night" mode.
Staying in was a good choice. We were able to rest, have a nice meal and rest some more.
I do need to go back to Tuesday night for just a second. We met a high school friend of Megan's for dinner. Megan's friend Richi attends BYU and we were really happy to spend a couple of hours catching up.
MEGAN AND RICHI
Another great day in this thing we call life.
