More trails and signs of spring

Daylight Savings Time is a hassle but not so much if you do not have to get up with an alarm.

I am an early riser but springing forward has allowed to sleep in.  I know it is all a mind game but....

To all of you battling the Z monster....My condolences.

We continue to explore another Texas region.  On Monday, we found another place to hike and Annie Belle went with us this time.  She had a good time of it and powered through about 90% of the trail.

ME AND LITTLE BUG

Some wild flowers are starting to show themselves.  It is nice to see the color dotted through the landscape.

As usual, Penny enjoyed checking out new turf.  

ALWAYS OUT FRONT

Tuesday morning showed itself with chilly temps and clear blue skies.  It was a bit nippy inside the motorhome but as soon as the sun hit the widows, Lewis started getting really cozy.

After coffee and a bite of breakfast, we got our running gear on and drove back to the trail we had hiked Sunday.  

We had planned to go sans dogs but as we were leaving, we looked back and Penny Lane had her big head plastered against the window.  She was watching us leave and had on her best "please don't leave me" look.  We quickly caved.  We turned around, loaded her up and we were off.  Annie was not really interested.  She seems to know when we are going running vs going hiking. 

We arrived at the trailhead and set out at a good pace.  The trail was perfect for running.  It was a dry, nicely packed surface and it was fairly flat.  Penny Lane was eager to explore but behaved well.  I have been working on the commands "left", "right" and "straight" when we are out like this.  Trails are a good place to test her because we need to make turns.

We finished our run sufficiently winded but well exercised.

FEELING THE LOVE

We are enjoying the RV park.  It is far enough away from city/town noises that it is peaceful but not so far away that going to the store is long haul chore.  The other occupants are friendly but mind their own business.  I wandered around to get a good feel for the place and decided to snap a few pictures.

I have really enjoyed watching the horses frolicking in the adjoining pasture.  They are definitely loving the greener grasses and lovely weather.

The local bird population is also very active.  They roost and sing. I like to think they are so happy.

Our travels and adventures continue to amaze us.  So much to see and, lucky for us, the time to see it.
