Two travel days and Baraboo, WI

Our Saturday started early.  It was a travel day for us and we needed to get going.  We made a quick detour to see my Uncle David.

We visited for a bit and then we were off.  

We were to meet Rob and Penny in Champaign, IL.  We made our way west and then north towards our destination.  I decided to take the road less traveled.  I knew it  might take us a bit longer but I just did not want to take the Interstate.  We drove through Tennessee and went through some really interesting towns.  We went through Paris, TN and saw this sign.

We also saw a sign that said "we do not rent pigs.", but we did not have time to take a picture. We did wonder who does rent pigs?

Our ride was fairly uneventful but we did run through some storms.

 We linked up with Rob and Penny in Champaign.  Penny was very happy to see us and she was happy to have Annie back.  

We got the girls settled and went to Champaign and had dinner.  We found a good Thai restaurant and then looked around a bit.  We returned to the RV and settled for the evening.   

Sunday was another travel day.  We needed to get to Baraboo, Wisconsin.  We will be in Baraboo for two weeks and we will be working a Habitat for Humanity build.

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), generally referred to as Habitat for Humanity or simply Habitat, is an international, non-governmental, and nonprofit organization, which was founded in 1976. Habitat has been devoted to building "simple, decent, and affordable" housing, a self-described "Christian housing ministry," and has addressed the issues of poverty housing all over the world.^[1] The international operational headquarters are located in Americus, Georgia,United States, with the administrative headquarters located in Atlanta.^[2] There are five area offices located around the world: United States and Canada; Africa and the Middle East (located in Pretoria, South Africa); Asia-Pacific (Bangkok, Thailand); Europe and Central Asia (Bratislava, Slovakia); and Latin America and the Caribbean (San Jose, Costa Rica).

We are working with a group called Habitat for Humanity RV Caravaners.  Caravaners meet and camp  and supplement the local volunteer groups for Habitat builds.  We are parked at the local county fairgrounds.

We are looking forward to the build.  It should be a good learning experience for all of us and we will get to help build a home from the ground up.

We are settled for the night and we will start work in the morning.
