Ryder Cup day 2, shuttle fix and take a hike

Wednesday morning dawned with more gray skies and wind.  Rain was not a factor and, even if it was, the golf fans would still have been heading to Hazeltine.

I had done a bit of online research and worked another way to get to the golf course.  The previous day's commute was a cluster and we hoped to avoid another one like it.  Be assured, we know that a bad commute to the Ryder Cup is a first world problem,  but we wanted to explore options.  I had found a local High School that was selling parking and shuttling to Hazeltine.  The school was no where near the other parking lots and this looked to be a great opportunity for us to get to and from the course with less hassle.  We gave it a try and it was great.  Commute time from the parking spot to the course was about 25 minutes.  It had taken us over two hours the day before.

The course was busy and the pros were set to tee off around 9:30.  We had gotten there a little before 8:00 so we decided to walk the course and then find a spot to watch the groups play through. Before getting too far, we stopped for a cup of coffee.  A cup of coffee is $3.  A little steep but bearable considering the venue and the fact that it doubles as a hand warmer.  I did notice that it could become Irish coffee for $13.  That, my friends, is ridiculous.  $10 for a shot of whiskey?  I think not.   We got our coffee and took a stroll.

   After a bit of walking, we stopped at hole number 12 and took a seat.  Many of the groups were starting at 10 so it would not take them very long to come through.

HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CAPTAIN'S CHOICE.  HE CAME ANYWAY AND IS ASSISTING.

Most of the golfers had on their game faces and it was interesting to watch them interact as a team.  

The Europeans were in different parts of the course so it was a little harder to catch them.

The course was getting mobbed and we'd had a really good morning so we decided to head back to Lewis and the girls.  

It was still early afternoon so we put Penny Lane and Annie in the car and went for a hike.   The trail was far enough out that we let Penny Lane off leash for a bit.  She was a bit crazy excited at first but soon settled and stayed close.  Annie Belle also got to go off leash and both girls went into explore mode.

We got a good 2 hour hike and made our way back to the RV.  Rob got the grill going and we had steaks, salad and potatoes. 

 A wonderful ending to a wonderful day!
