Friday, short drive day, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Friday was another moving day but it was just a short drive to our destination,

We took our time getting up, had our coffee and yogurt and got ready for a run.  We had noticed a trail leading away from the camp site so we decided to give it a go.  The trail ran along the road for about a quarter of a mile and  then came to a parking lot.  I noticed another trail that said Mt Rose summit.  I took a hard left and we started going up, up, up.  This run was definitely going to be a heart rate buster but it was great.  We had steps, roots, and dirt to work with.
IT WAS ONLY 1/2 MILE TO THE SUMMIT BUT IT WAS VERY STEEP

THE VIEWS FROM THE SUMMIT WERE BEAUTIFUL

JUST AMAZING FROM THE TOP

SOME DAYS, I JUST HAVE TO BREAK OUT THE BOSTON SHIRT

NICE TRAIL..HARD BUT NICE

After our run, we got everything ready and headed for the border.  Canada was a mere seven miles away.
EH?

It is funny to me how perfectly decent, law abiding citizens get nervous when going through a border crossing.  We approached an extremely narrow lane, answered all the questions, showed our passports and we were on our way.  Penny Lane and Annie Belle were stone silent.  I am not sure the border guys even knew the were with us.  I had their papers but....
We were headed to an area called Thunder Bay and the ride continued to be beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL MEADOWS AND WHEAT FIELDS

We arrived at our camp site and got Lewis set up.  We love the site.  Lewis and Clark fit just perfectly.
LAFONDA  AND HEATHER:  NOTICE OUR HAPPY CAMPER SIGN?  IT HAS BEEN AROUND!

Once we got settled, we took the girls for a walk.  We are near a couple of big fields that allow Penny Lane to run around sans leash.  She loves to do this.  She is a bit crazy at first but she is a happy crazy.

We finished our walk, put the girls in the RV and went for a drive.  We headed to the Bay and stopped at a little lakeside bar and eatery.  We got awesome craft beers and some calamari.
A REALLY GOOD CRAFT BEER

We completed our outing with a walk around the area.

Our day was nearing dusk and we were ready to settle for the evening.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
