Working on the house, farm animals and vertigo

Rob and I have been working on the house in Alabama.  As far as  houses go, it is a good one. It is a sprawling rancher that has a creek running through the back of the property.  The house sits on a great lot that is just gorgeous in the spring, summer and fall.

We've had someone living in the house for the past 13 years and it had fallen into ill repair.  We have already filled 2 large dumpsters with junk of all sorts.  The detached garage, outbuildings and storage rooms were chocked full.
We also had to pull up all carpets and any laminate or linoleum.  The place already looks better.  One bathroom must be torn out and I will get at that tomorrow.
We are nearly out of time so we will hire someone to paint, put down new floors and install the new bathroom fixtures.  Rob and I did all the "grunt" work so it will be much easier for the contractors to get their jobs done.
We have created a huge burn pile and Rob is chomping at the bit to light it.  Alabama is under a burn ban but we hope the recent heavy rains will allow us to get at it next week.

We will sell the house when we get it cleaned up.

We have been staying at my friend Lisa's house while we work.  Lisa is one of my dearest and oldest friends.  We have known of one another since third grade and have been traveling buddies since college.

Lisa lives in the country and has a barn.  With a barn comes critters.  There are pigs, chickens, geese, ducks and goats.

The baby goats are sooo sweet.  I always want to just pick them up and snuggle them but it is best to let them settle for a couple of days before handling them.  I have a pretty good view of them from the bedroom we are using.

My vertigo is still hanging around.  It is better but I have not been able to run for nine days.  This would normally bother me but we have been working so hard at the house that it is not such a big deal.  Most movements are fine but there are still a couple that send me spinning.

It has been a hard, and at times frustrating week, but it has been good and we have gotten so much done.

We took today off.  It is rainy and cold and we needed a break.

Another great day in this thing we call life.
